GOBLIN6 Outbreak Server downtime

We had some hardware issues with the server. We will be replacing the server hardware while we also run updates and backups.

We normally backup the server at the end of the year, but as this issue arrived right at the beginning of December, we might as well run our yearly redundancies as well.

Since we had to order some gear right during Christmas season, we are expecting to be offline from 12/01/2023 – 12/20/2023.

Keep an eye on the site and the forum, hopefully we can be back online before 12/20/2023.

GOBLIN6 Year Six

Today is GOBLIN6’s sixth year of operation.

Years 1 – 4 showed tremendous growth. Year 5 may seem to have slowed down, however, I have been working on (trying) to figure out how to add more features to the site and the Outbreak Server.

Things have started to move in that direction. Hell, I even interrupted the stream in order to get more time working on tech.

Here’s hoping it pays off soon.

    Resident Evil 4 Separate Ways

    With Separate Ways finally released, it’s great to be back playing the Resident Evil 4 remake.

    It was weird for Capcom to release the launch trailer days before the DLC was actually released.

    Oh well, what do I know.

    Capcom revealed upcoming DLC for the Resident Evil 4 remake.

    As expected, VR mode is coming along with Separate Ways.

    It will be interesting to see how they update Separate Ways, personally I think they can basically scrap the majority of the original and do something totally unexpected for the fans who were there for the original release.

    My wallet is ready.

    Resident Evil Death Island Trailer 1

    Capcom has just released a new trailer for Death Island.

    This one is far longer than the previously released teaser trailer. Plus we do get a greater sense of the main plot (and subplot :D).

    Resident Evil 4 VR Mode

    Capcom has announced Resident Evil 4 VR for PlayStation VR2.

    The trailer showcases Leon’s approach from the first cabin in the game all the way through to the encounter with the Ganado in the village.

    On a personal note, it is great to see a VR perspective where the character has full arms and not “floating hands”.

    Going through this on Professional could be a great stream…

    Resident Evil Death Island images + trailer

    Capcom released new images and trailer for Resident Evil Death Island.

    The images basically show a reunion between the heroes from the original Resident Evil and Resident Evil 2.

    Resident Evil 4 The Mercenaries

    Capcom has released a free update for Resident Evil 4 which includes The Mercenaries.

    Resident Evil 4 remake ARG

    Capcom has released an ARG (Augmented Reality Game) as part of a tie in for Resident Evil 4.

    In the original game, we are informed that Ashley has been Kidnaped. In this ARG, we actually track the events as they happen in real-time and try to discover what actually happened as a member of the US Secret Service.

    This is actually pretty fun.

    As of this writing, the event is currently in day 2. I have posted a few images on the forum in order to not ruin the experience for anyone who has not been able to try this yet.

    Resident Evil 4 remake 3rd trailer

    Capcom has released a third trailer for Resident Evil 4.

    We finally get a good look at Saddler. Plus, it is great to see Luis appear in new sections of the story compared to the original RE4.

    Personally, Krauser was a big let down. Dude looked amazing in the original RE4.

    Apparently there should be a demo arriving soon.

    Resident Evil Village VR Mode

    Village is getting free DLC for PlayStation VR2.

    I’m usually not a fan of VR games, but this actually does look cool.

    The DLC will release on February 22nd. This will be a free update for PlayStation users.

    RE7 VR was great, this actually does look like an upgrade in fun factor. Although, it will be curious to see if they slow down the gameplay to accommodate for VR.

    Resident Evil Death Island

    Sony has released a short teaser for the next CG Resident Evil movie called: Resident Evil Death Island.

    The action seems to take place on Alcatraz with Leon, Chris and Jill taking center stage.

    The film should release Summer 2023.

    It will be interesting to see more Jill, especially since her most recent gaming appearance in the Resident Evil 3 remake.

    Resident Evil Village Gold Edition launch

    Resident Evil Village Gold Edition has finally launched.

    Personally, I will jump into the the Shadows of Rose section first, as that is moving the overall narrative forward.

    The Ethan 3rd person mode does look like fun though.

    As it is tradition here on GOBLIN6. We will be doing a social black out as we play through the new DLC.

    GOBLIN6 Year Five

    Five years ago today, GOBLIN6 was launched.

    It has been one hell of a ride, and we are not done yet.

    As this years post is the longest I have every written for a recap, I decided to post it on the forum.

    I would personally like to thank everyone that has dropped by and given GOBLIN6 a chance.

    There is still a lot of work to be done.

    Resident Evil Village Gold Edition

    Capcom has finally revealed the DLC for Resident Evil Village.

    Announced as “Resident Evil Village Gold Edition” the new content will feature:

    • Shadows of Rose
    • The Mercenaries: Additional Orders
    • Third Person Mode

    And probably something that won’t get as much love as Resident Evil Resistance:

    • Resident Evil RE:Verse

    Personally, Shadows of Rose and Third Person Mode do it for me.

    I’m gonna stream the hell out of that.

    Oh, and you will be able to play as Chris, Heisenberg and Lady D in The Mercenaries.

    October 28th 2022 baby.
