biohazard mercenaries Vs

BIOHAZARD Mercenaries Vs. is a mobile title featuring multiplayer for iOS. The game features a non-canon scenario which pits BIOHAZARD 5 characters in environments against enemies from BIOHAZARD 4.

PLOT

There is no specific plot for Mercenaries Vs. It features BIOHAZARD 5 characters Chris Redfield, Jill Valentine and Albert Wesker.

The enemies and locations are taken from BIOHAZARD 4 and presented in classic BIOHAZARD Mercenaries mode fashion.

Mercenaries features fast-paced action on the go.

FEATURES

The game takes inspiration from the Mercenaries modes available in BIOHAZARD 4 and BIOHAZARD 5. Re-tooled for the mobile market, Mercenaries Vs. features limited characters, environments, and enemies. Developed as a “pick-up” title Mercenaries Vs. does not move the story forward, it instead provides the player with quick action for their iOS device of choice. This also limits the visual quality of the title.

Mercenaries Vs. features two-versus-two online team match mode, as well as a “free for all” mode which is available via Wi-Fi, online and Bluetooth. A single player option is also available, reminiscent of Solo Mode in Mercenaries for the console.

DEVELOPMENT NOTES

BIOHAZARD The Mercenaries Vs was developed exclusively for iOS devices, providing BIOHAZARD multiplayer on-the-go.

Although the fact that Mercenaries Vs was developed for the mobile market, it’s biggest challenge was not technically the hardware, but the various territories for mobile gaming. In the West, mobile gaming is seen as a casual landscape. In Asia however, especially Japan, the mobile market has a huge audience for this type of title. So much so that the Japanese social networking service GREE featured their own version of Mercenaries Vs.

The GREE platform has about ninety percent of its users access the service via their mobile devices. GREE obtains much of its revenue through the sale of virtual goods for their games and avatars. The GREE platform also includes blogs, social games, fortune telling and news. In 2010 GREE started the service for iOS and Android in order to meet demand. A BIOHAZARD game with social functions for their service was thought to be able to greatly attract new users to its online service.
