PLOT

The story follows S.T.A.R.S. Alpha Team members, Jill Valentine and Chris Redfield.

Alpha Team is dispatched to the Arklay Mountains in search of Bravo Team after they have lost contact with them for several days.

They are quickly attacked and head into a nearby Mansion.

FEATURES

The original version of BIOHAZARD was released on the Sony PlayStation in 1996. A remake was released in 2002 for the Nintendo Game Cube. The remake overrides the events of the 1996 release, thus, becoming the true first entry of the BIOHAZARD series. The game revamps familiar areas of the Mansion and also adds new areas and characters which expand the story and events which transpired in the Spencer Mansion.

The graphical quality available on the Nintendo Game Cube transformed BIOHAZARD from a minimal yet intriguing thriller to an immensely intense and atmospheric horror experience.

DEVELOPMENT NOTES

Originally released on the Sony PlayStation in 1996, CAPCOM remade BIOHAZARD in 2002 for the Nintendo GameCube.

This remake was part of an exclusivity deal with Nintendo dubbed “The CAPCOM 5”. This deal would bring all of the BIOHAZARD titles to the GameCube along with a Remake of the original, a prequel, BIOHAZARD4, Killer 7, Dead Phoenix, Viewtiful Joe and P.N.0.3. A remake of the original BIOHAZARD allowed for the opportunity to have Director and Creator of the Series Shinji Mikami realize his original version for BIOHAZARD.

Although the environments remained predominantly the same in size and layout, they were almost unrecognizable due to the high quality in detail of the pre-rendered backgrounds. New areas were also added to the Remake such as a graveyard, an abandoned cabin, and a second underground area. New characters and abilities such as the use of sub-weapons which allowed Players to escape from the Undead added to the experience which made this release a favorite among BIOHAZARD fans.
